The 10k is a competitive race that attracts both club runners seeking to place and recreational runners enjoying a festive event, many in fabulous fancy dress! All are welcome.
Starts at Knutsford Gate to Tatton Park at 10am
Minimum age 16
We would just ask that you train and prepare for the run so that you are capable of completing the distance within 1 hour 45 minutes. After that time, marshals will be stood down and the race will be considered completed. If you are in any doubt about your fitness to run, please consult your doctor before participating. Note that you take part entirely at your own risk.
£20 non-affiliated , £18 affiliated
Plus online service fee at 7% of entry and purchases. Includes free race photos.
(Affiliated runners will be asked for their England Athletics registration number)
10K Trophies will be awarded to men and women in Open 1st, 2nd & 3rd; and 1st in V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65 and V70.
All finishers will receive medals.
Team trophies will be awarded in two categories: running clubs and other groups. First three runners home (must be a mixed gender team) will be recorded.
Please note that the times recorded for those who enter as affiliated runners will count in the Running Club competition. They will not count as members of teams entered in the non-running club competition.
Running clubs who have at least three runners (including male and female) registered will automatically be entered into the Running Club Competition.
To enter as a non-running club eg with friends or workmates, please enter your team online and make sure that each competitor uses the same team name.
The 10K race is chip timed by TDL. Your number will be sent to you in the post with the chip attached. There is no need to register on the day.
If you provide your mobile number when you enter online, you will get your result sent to you by text very shortly after the race. The results will also be on line within a few hours.
You will receive your chip time and gun time. The latter may be slower, but it will be the gun time that determines your position in the race.
If you pass your number on, you must change the personal data online. To do this, the original runner must log in to their entry, using the password they received on entry, and obtain a voucher code. This should be passed to the new runner who can use it to enter without further payment. This service is available up to 9am Friday 6th December.
It is important to change the data so that the database has the correct name for each runner, allowing the runner to have a valid result. It is also important for reasons of safety, to know who is out on course.
Any chaps seen to be running on ladies’ numbers, without changing the data, will be disqualified! This is to avoid them recording winning positions and upsetting the results and prize giving, until matters can be rectified.
If numbers (which have the chips attached) have already been posted out, you must pass yours on to someone taking your place. This is your responsibility. New numbers cannot be provided.
If you are making the changes after 9am on Friday 6th December (when the system closes down), please advise the race secretary at the information desk in Egerton Youth Club prior to the race. Give yourself plenty of time to do this and get to the start.
